Terms of Service
Last updated: 01/09/2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of thelifedesignsystem.com (the "Site") and your purchase of The Life Design System™ digital planner (the "Product") from Dotem Design Ltd. By placing an order through the Site, you agree to these Terms.
1. Who We Are
The Life Design System™ is operated by Dotem Design Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 11363533, with its registered office at 5 Ruislip Road, Greenford, UB6 9QD United Kingdom. You can contact us at the details in Section 13 below.
2. Agreement to These Terms
By browsing the Site, creating an order, or completing a purchase, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Site or place an order. We may update these Terms from time to time — see Section 12.
3. Our Product
The Product is a digital, hyperlinked PDF planner delivered electronically. It is not a physical item and nothing is shipped to you. Purchasing the Product grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it, on the terms set out in the licence notice included within the Product file itself — purchasing does not transfer ownership of the copyright, which remains with Dotem Design Ltd. Section 9 below summarises the key points of that licence; where the in-product notice and this section differ, the more restrictive term applies.
We describe the Product's features, format, and device compatibility on the Site as accurately as we can. Screenshots and mockups are illustrative of the design and layout; minor visual differences between marketing images and the final file (for example, due to how a particular app or device renders PDFs) do not, on their own, make the Product faulty.
4. Placing an Order & Contract Formation
Orders are placed through our checkout, operated via Shopify. When you place an order, we will send you an order confirmation by email — this confirms we've received your order but does not by itself guarantee availability or accuracy. A binding contract between you and Dotem Design Ltd is formed when we provide you with access to download the Product, at which point Section 7 below (your cancellation right) begins to apply.
We reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order — for example, in cases of suspected fraud, pricing or listing errors, or technical issues — before delivery has taken place. If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, you will receive a full refund.
5. Price & Payment
All prices on the Site are shown in GBP (£) and are inclusive of any taxes applicable at the point of sale, unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed securely through Shopify's payment system at the time of order; we do not store your card details. As with any card payment, you may be asked for a billing address — this is used for payment verification and fraud prevention only. It is not a delivery address; nothing is shipped, and the Product is not fulfilled based on it.
We take reasonable care to ensure prices displayed on the Site are correct, but errors may occasionally occur. If we discover a pricing error on an order you've placed, we will contact you before proceeding, and you may choose to continue at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
6. Digital Delivery
On completion of your order, you will receive an automated email containing a download link for the Product. Delivery is deemed complete once that link has been issued to the email address provided at checkout. It's your responsibility to provide a valid, correctly spelled email address and to check your spam or junk folder if the confirmation doesn't arrive promptly; contact us using the details in Section 13 if you haven't received your download link within a reasonable time.
You are responsible for having a device and software capable of opening and using a hyperlinked PDF (see the Site's compatibility information). We are not responsible for issues caused by third-party apps, devices, or file readers that are outside our control, though we're glad to help troubleshoot where we can.
7. Your Right to Cancel and When It Ends
If you are a consumer purchasing for personal use, UK law (the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013) ordinarily gives you 14 days from the date of your order to change your mind and cancel, without giving a reason.
However, this Product is digital content supplied immediately by download, not on a physical disc or other tangible item. The law allows this cancellation right to end early, but only if we ask for — and you give — your express consent to begin delivery straight away, and you separately acknowledge that doing so means you lose your right to cancel. Where our checkout captures that consent and acknowledgment from you before your download link is issued, your right to cancel ends as soon as delivery (Section 6) has taken place. Where it has not been captured, your statutory cancellation right continues to apply in full, in line with the law.
This section does not affect your separate statutory rights if the Product turns out to be faulty or not as described — see Section 8.
8. Refunds & Faulty Digital Content
Change of mind. Once you have downloaded the Product under the consent described in Section 7, we are not able to offer a change-of-mind refund — the file has been delivered in full and, being digital, can't meaningfully be "returned." We would ask you to make use of the free preview material and product description on the Site before purchasing, precisely so this is rarely a surprise.
Faulty, corrupted, or not-as-described content. This is separate from a change of mind, and your rights here are not affected by the above. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any purpose you made known to us, and as described. If your copy of the Product is genuinely faulty — for example, corrupted on download, missing pages, or broken hyperlinks that substantially affect its use — contact us with details and we will first put it right, normally by re-sending you a correct working copy, at no cost to you and within a reasonable time. If we are unable to do that, or a repeat attempt also fails, you are entitled to an appropriate price reduction, which in a straightforward case of this kind would ordinarily mean a full refund.
To ask for this, contact us using the details in Section 13, describing the issue as specifically as you can (screenshots help). Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any right you have under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK consumer law that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Licence, Intellectual Property & Permitted Use
The Life Design System™ is a proprietary framework and an original work, protected by copyright law, including the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and applicable international copyright treaties. All intellectual property rights in the Product, the Site, and their content belong to Dotem Design Ltd or its licensors.
Buying the Product grants you a personal, non-transferable licence to use it for your own personal purposes. You may not resell, redistribute, share, sub-license, publish, or claim authorship of the Product or any part of it, in original or modified form, without our prior written permission. This licence does not transfer ownership of the underlying copyright, which remains with Dotem Design Ltd in all territories, and is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Full detail is included in the licence notice inside the Product file itself.
10. Availability, Suspension & Changes to the Product
We aim to keep the Site and the Product available at all times, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access — the Site may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or reasons outside our control. We may update, improve, or make reasonable changes to future versions of the Product; where a change would materially reduce what you're entitled to under a purchase you've already made, we'll deal with that fairly and in line with your statutory rights under Section 8.
11. Our Liability to You
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under English law, including your statutory rights described in Section 8.
Subject to that, our liability to you in connection with your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the Product. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses that weren't a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms — for example, loss of data you didn't back up, or loss of time, where that goes beyond a straightforward refund or replacement remedy.
Nothing here is intended to reduce your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or other UK consumer protection law.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or in how we do business. The version in force is the one published on the Site at the time of your order; where we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date above.
13. Complaints & Contact
If something isn't right, we would genuinely rather you tell us than leave unhappy — contact us via the Contact page at thelifedesignsystem.com, or by email at [support email address]. We aim to acknowledge complaints promptly and resolve them fairly.
14. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute arising from them or your purchase, are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you're a consumer, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK you live in, and if you live outside the UK, nothing in this section removes any protection you're entitled to under the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country you live in.
